Feel and Heal

There was a day, early in the process of starting my business, when all the insecurities, uncertainties, and feelings of inadequacy hit me all at once. I felt like a fraud. I thought, “I have no idea what I’m doing...this is so hard! I don’t know if I can do this!”

I shut my computer, wrapped up in a soft blanket, and laid down on the couch next to my husband. I cried. I let myself think those thoughts for a minute, then I just let myself feel it. I felt the tightness and warmth in my chest, the squeezing of my heart, the stone in my belly, and the tension in my arms and legs. I laid there with all the feelings, and just let them sit and swell Isin my body. I told myself, “It’s ok. You can feel this right now for as long as you need. When you’re done, you will get back up and keep going.” I repeated the mantra, Feel and Heal, over and over in my head. Whenever the fears of starting my own business started swirling in my head, I redirected to “Feel and Heal” and focused on the sensations in my body. The feelings ebbed and flowed. Sometimes getting stronger, and sometimes slacking off. Eventually, the tears dried, the tension left my body, and I was left feeling renewed and refreshed.

I find if I allow myself to feel what I am feeling, instead of fighting it, I’m able to move past whatever is giving me pain. I am able to come to a place of healing and an ability to move forward into whatever is happening outside of myself.

Try this the next time things seem overwhelming or difficult. Give yourself the time to Feel and Heal.

Send me your thoughts and let me know if this works for you!

Burning a candle is the perfect way to heal whatever you are going through.
